The bad seven in Eisleben

The bad seven in Eisleben

The Böse Sieben is a stream that rises on the eastern edge of the Harz Mountains . It flows in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz through the Luther town of Eisleben and flows into the Süßen See near Lüttchendorf , from which two further estuaries flow into the Bindersee north and south of Seeburg and from this one into the Kernersee . The water is finally a few meters in height in the upper and middle sections of the latter from Querne and Weida said Salza pumped (Salzke) which, when Salzmünde in the Saale opens.

High altitudes

As far as the sweet lake, the level of the evil seven falls from a good 200  m above sea level. Above sea level at 92.6  m above sea level NHN . From there the height drops comparatively abruptly to 79.9  m above sea level. NHN at the Bindersee and 78.7  m above sea level. NHN am Kernersee , from where it again rises to about 85.4  m above sea level. NHN is pumped to the Salza.

Origin of name

The name of the brook has only prevailed since the 19th century and its origin has not yet been clearly established. Before it was called Willerbach (Mansfeld for Wilder Bach ).

course

The Böse Sieben is fed by the two source streams Vietzbach, also called Goldbach, and Dippelsbach, which unite in Ahlsdorf. According to the board of the State Office for Flood Protection and Water Management (LHW), the Böse Sieben is 15.22 km long. Further tributaries are Kliebigbach, Goldgrundbach, Pfaffengrundbach, Saugrundbach and Wolferoder Bach or Wolferöder Graben. Since these can quickly swell in heavy rains and turn into torrential floods that plague the Mansfelder Grund, the explanation of the name can be found here. In the Eisleber floodplain, the Hünsch Born, the Wilde Graben and south of Unterrißdorf the Kalte Graben flow into the Böse Sieben. Some of the tributaries fall completely dry in hot summers, especially the Saugrundbach and the Hehle Born. Within the town of Eisleben, the stream bed was lined with red sandstone. With the numerous bridges, especially the arched stone bridge at the level of the grave school, a special ensemble has been created in the city.
