Hartmut Melenk

Hartmut Melenk (born June 28, 1940 in Wuppertal ) is a German German studies specialist , educator and university professor .

Life

Melenk was born the son of the textile merchant Helmut Melenk and his wife Hilde. From 1950 to 1959 he attended the New Language High School Aue. From 1959 to 1964 he studied philosophy, Romance languages ​​and German studies at the universities of Cologne (two semesters, 1959/60), Freiburg (eight semesters, 1960/62 and 1963/64) and Paris (academic year 1962/63). With the thesis The phenomenon: development and criticism of Husserl's term phenomenon , he was in 1968 at the University of Wuerzburg at Heinrich Rombach to Dr. phil. PhD. In 1974 Melenk was initially appointed lecturer at the Ludwigsburg University of Education. There he took over the professorship for the German language and its didactics. From 1986 to 1990 he was vice-rector of the university, from 1990 to 1994 and from 1998 to 2008 he was its rector .

When he retired in 2008, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by Prime Minister Günther Oettinger for his services to the PH Ludwigsburg and for his almost ten years as deputy chairman of the State Rectors' Conference of the Universities of Education .
