Hartmut Sasse (born July 27,  1949 ) is a former German boxer . He was a German champion in professional boxing ( heavyweight ).

Life

The trained butcher , who comes from Berlin , fought his first fight as a professional boxer in March 1973: a point victory over Manfred Ackers in the Deutschlandhalle . He had a record of seven wins and one draw when he fought against Arno Prick in Hamburg for the vacant German heavyweight championship title at the end of October . Sasse, who was 1.83 meters tall and was supervised by manager Fritz Gretzschel , defeated Prick in the eighth round by knockout. In November 1973, Sasse suffered his first defeat as a professional boxer in a duel with Avenamar Peralta (Argentina). In his subsequent fight, the Berliner lost his German championship title: Sasse competed  against Conrad Velensek in Hamburg's Ernst-Merck-Halle and lost on points. In the eleventh round, Sasse, who received 20,000 Deutschmarks as a reward, went down.  

In June 1975 Sasse boxed abroad for the first time, but had to admit defeat to Danny McAlinden at the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington , UK . This started the part of his career in which Sasse lost significantly more fights than won. In August 1976 he fought against Bernd August again for the German heavyweight championship, but lost to his compatriot from Berlin with a knockout in the third round. He competed in Hamburg in October 1976 in a preliminary round for a fight for the German championship against Kurt Lüdecke from Bremen , but lost again prematurely, whereupon the Hamburger Abendblatt wrote , referring to the profession of the Berliner: “Sasse's future is clearly in the slaughterhouse . "

Sasse initially boxed until April 1977, in May 1985 and July 1988 he then fought two more fights.
