Hartmut Schröder

Hartmut Schröder (born June 19, 1954 in Oberhausen ) is Professor of Language Use and Therapeutic Communication at the Faculty of Cultural Studies at the Viadrina European University in Frankfurt (Oder) .

Life

Hartmut Schröder studied social sciences from 1973 to 1978 at the University of Duisburg . From 1979 to 1980 he studied Russian at the Ruhr University in Bochum , followed by a research stay at the Moscow State University. After completing his doctorate in linguistics at Bielefeld University , he received his doctorate there in 1986 . In 1990 appointment as full professor at the University of Vaasa and in 1994 appointment as professor at the European University Viadrina and assumption of the chair for language use and therapeutic communication.

Hartmut Schröder was involved in the establishment of courses and institutes at the European University Viadrina. a. in the international master's degree in “Media and Intercultural Communication” at the Southeast European Media Center in Sofia and in the first German master's degree in “Cultural Studies and Complementary Medicine”. Hartmut Schröder founded the Steinbeis Transfer Institute for Therapeutic Communication and Integrated Therapy at the Steinbeis University in Berlin.

Main areas of activity

In his research, Hartmut Schröder first dealt with linguistic questions of specialist communication and intercultural communication. This was followed by an intensive phase of preoccupation with taboos and the phenomenon of hedging or the formation of hedges in linguistic communication. In the last few years, Hartmut Schröder has dealt in particular with the justification of a cultural-scientific reorientation of the health sciences and medicine (see individual evidence) as well as theoretical and practical questions of therapeutic communication (see individual evidence). In addition to his academic work, Hartmut Schröder is also active in prevention and health coaching. He offers courses and lectures at the Academy for Empathy. Hartmut Schröder is a member of numerous advisory boards in the fields of education and [science] as well as a member of science organizations and associations. He is a founding member of the Naturheilverein Berlin-Brandenburg, of which he is a member. The Naturheilverein has launched a social project in Berlin-Zehlendorf that makes effective naturopathic treatments accessible to those in need.
