Hartmut Wächter

Hartmut Wächter (born December 2, 1938 in Göttingen ; † August 24, 2013 in Trier ) was a German business economist . He held the chair for work, personnel and organization (APO) in business administration at the University of Trier .

Life

Wächter completed his studies in economics and business administration at the Universities of Hamburg and Göttingen in 1962 with a degree in business administration. In 1968 he was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. After his habilitation (1972) he was professor at the University of Trier from 1973 until his retirement in 2007, where he played a key role in the development of the economics course.

He received offers from the universities of Paderborn, Essen and Hanover. Numerous stays and visiting professorships have taken him abroad, including Clark University (USA); Institut d'Administration des Entreprises, Université d'Aix-Marseille; Institut Commercial de Nancy, Université Nancy II; IECS Université Robert Schuman, Strasbourg (France).

His participation in research projects in the "Humanization of Work" program shows that Wächter is a researcher who paid particular attention to the interests and resources of employees.

From 1989 to 1990, Wächter was chairman of the scientific commission for human resources in the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration . He was one of the founding editors of the Zeitschrift für Personalforschung (ZfP) - German Journal of Research in Human Resource Management , which has been published by Rainer Hampp Verlag since 1987 .
