Harvey Grant (born July 4, 1965 in Augusta , Georgia , United States ) is a retired American basketball player for the Washington Bullets , Portland Trail Blazers , Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA .

Career

Grant was selected 12th place by the Washington Bullets in the 1988 NBA Draft . In his first two seasons, Grant hardly got a chance and only played about 20 minutes per game. In his third season, however, he established himself as a regular player and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds per game. In 1994 he was transferred to the Trail Blazers, but stagnated there and was therefore sent back to the Bullets in 1996. There his performance collapsed completely before Grant ended his career with the 76ers after a last weak year from 1998-1999.

Private life

Harvey Grant is the twin brother of Horace Grant , who also played in the NBA. Harvey's sons Jerai , Jerian and Jerami are also professional basketball players. Jerai played, like his uncle Horace, for Clemson University and then played for various clubs in Australia and Europe. Jerian and Jerami are both active in the NBA.
