Hasan Dogan

Hasan Doğan (born March 15, 1956 in Abana , Kastamonu ; † July 5, 2008 in Bodrum , Muğla ) was the 37th chairman of the Turkish Football Association .

Doğan completed his school career in Istanbul and then studied mechanical engineering at the Yıldız Technical University there, where he graduated in 1979. He then attended a language school in England from 1979 to 1980. After his return he worked at the Beldesan company (until 1988) and was then on the board of directors of the textile manufacturers Ramsey, Gürmen, Kip-Teks Konfeksiyon and the Star Medya Yayıncılık A.Ş., which publishes, among other things, the Turkish daily Star . He was also a member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Industry and sat on the Industry Committee of the Association of Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Stock Exchanges . Doğan was also a member of the NOK of Turkey and a board member of the Turkish Boxing Association. He was also involved in the Beşiktaş Istanbul sports club .

Doğan's election as chairman of the Turkish Football Association on February 15, 2008 was clear with 222 out of 237 votes. On July 5, 2008, he suffered a fatal heart attack after a dinner with the Turkish national coach Fatih Terim near Bodrum . Doğan left behind his wife Aysel and two children.
