Abana is a city and a district in the northern Turkish province of Kastamonu . Abana is located on the Black Sea coast and on the Ezine Çay, about 2.5 km north of Bozkurt. Abana is an important tourist destination in the province, the population increases to 20,000 in summer.
Abana was split off from the northern part of the Bozkurt district in 1968 and became an independent district . It is the smallest county in the province, but has the highest population density (five times the provincial average). The district is located in the north of the province and borders the Bozkurt district in the south and Çatalzeytin district in the east . In the north, the Black Sea forms a natural border.
In addition to the district town (2018: 80% of the district population), the district also consists of ten villages ( Köy ) with an average of 86 residents. Yemeni (Muhtar: Mehmet Tetik) with 117 inhabitants is the largest and Yeşilyuva (Muhtar: Özcan Temel) with 39 the smallest village.
