Ban Hat Xai Khun (also Hatsay Khoun or Hat Xay Khoune ) is a village in the south of Laos on the eastern bank of the Mekong near the island of Don Khong in the Si Phan Don area ( four thousand islands ). Administratively, the place belongs to the Champasak province , Khong district .
Hat Xai Khun is particularly important because of its traffic-related location: The place is located directly on the national road 13 and is therefore with the provincial capital Pakse in the north (120 km) and Ban Nakasong / Don Det (15 km) and the Cambodian border at Veun Kham / Dong Krolor (30 km) connected to the south; there are bus connections . A bridge opened in 2014 connects Hat Xai Khun with the island's capital, Muang Khong , on the opposite side ; it replaced the ferry connection to the island that had existed until then.
There is a smaller Buddhist temple within the village .
