Hathras is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Hathras is located in the north Indian plain, 140 km south-southeast of the federal capital New Delhi . The Yamuna flows south 35 km west of the city. Hathras is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
Hathras is 45 km north of Agra and 30 km south of Aligarh . The national highway NH 93 connects Hathras with the two cities. Other cities in the vicinity are Mathura , Kasganj and Etah .
As a city, Hathras has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 28 wards . At the 2011 census, Hathras had 135,594 inhabitants.
