Kasganj is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Kasganj is located in the north Indian plain 165 km southeast of the federal capital New Delhi . The Ganges flows east 20 km north of the city. Kasganj is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
The Uttar-Pradesh trunk road 33 connects Kasganj with Badaun, 55 km to the northeast, and with the national highway NH 91 ( Aligarh - Kanpur ), which runs 30 km to the south . From Kasganj there are rail connections to Hathras , Badaun and Farrukhabad .
As a city, Kasganj has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . At the 2011 census, Kasganj had 101,277 inhabitants.
