The von Hausen ( listen ? / I ) are an extinct Hessian noble family , presumably based in the castle in Hayn , south of Obertshausen in Hesse . The family descended from the Maingaugrafen and was related to the Lords of Hagenhausen (named after Hainhausen , later Lords of Eppstein). Audio file / audio sample

Messrs Wigger von Hausen and Gottfried von Hausen are likely to have a connection with the castle. They are handed down in documents from the years 1130 and 1151 and were the owners of the land.

After the Lords of Hausen died out, the castle in Hayn passed to the Lords of Hagenhausen, who were related to them. Udalrich von Hagenhausen donated the castle to Archbishop Adalbert von Mainz in 1124.

It is unclear whether the gender is identical to the von Husen men .

A branch of the Lords of Hutten was nicknamed zu Hausen , named after a place and a castle called Hausen or Husen, which was built by the Lords of Jossa , the place being first mentioned in the 13th century. The sex was resident in the region around Bad Soden-Salmünster .
