Appendages
Skin appendages ( adnexes ) are all structures that are formed from the dermis and epidermis . The skin appendages include
- Hair and feathers
- Horn formations such as B. Horns , fingernails and toenails , horn scales , claws and hooves
- Glands such as mammary glands , sweat glands , and sebum glands . Skin glands are always epidermal structures, but are often sunk deep in the dermis. The development of the ducts of these exocrine glands can be traced back to this embryonic development history.
In gynecology the ovaries and fallopian tubes are referred to as adnexa .
