Jurij Hawrylow
Jurij Anatolijowytsch Hawrylow ( Ukrainian Юрій Анатолійович Гаврилов , Russian Юрий Анатольевич Гаврилов , Yuri Anatolyevich Gavrilov * 27. February 1967 in Kiev , Soviet Union ) is a former Ukrainian handball player .
Hawrylow played in his homeland for the army club in Kiev. From 1997 he played in Luxembourg with HB Dudelange, with whom he was cup winner in 1999, and with HB Bascharage, with whom he won the cup again in 2004.
With the Soviet national team Hawrylow was runner-up at the 1990 World Cup. With the United Team he won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games . In Barcelona he played in all seven games and scored 19 goals, including five in the final. For the Olympic victory he received the award of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (Заслуженный мастер спорта СССР).
