The heap rock is a rock ledge in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . In the massif of Mount Bursey in the Flood Range, it rises 3 km west-northwest of Hutt Peak above the Bursey Icefalls .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1974 after the American meteorologist Kenneth L. Heaps, who in 1970 on the Amundsen- Scott South Pole Station .
