New Jewish cemetery (Niederkirchen)

The new Jewish cemetery in Niederkirchen is a cemetery in the local community of Niederkirchen (West Palatinate) in the Kaiserslautern district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It stands as a cultural monument under monument protection .

The Jewish cemetery is located on the Steinhügel on the eastern edge of the village. The Elsbach flows not far to the east.

About seventy tombstones from the 19th and early 20th centuries have been preserved in the 720 square meter walled cemetery, which was laid out in 1860 . There are also tombstones from the cleared cemetery in Olsbrücken on the burial site .

The old Jewish cemetery on the Hahnenhügel was laid out around 1650. On the 550 square meter site there are still two tombstones, probably from the beginning of the 19th century.
