The Heidemühlenteich is a pond northeast of Dippoldiswalde near Karsdorf in the foothills of the Ore Mountains , which, like the Hafterteich , is fed by the Oelsabach . It has an area of 3.8 hectares, is used as a bathing and fishing pond and has a campsite . Near the pond is the “Zur Heidemühle” excursion restaurant on the Mühlgraben, a former sawmill that has existed since the 16th century.
flora
The pond bank is partly boggy (with pipe grass , narrow-leaved cotton grass , swamp violets and peat moss ) or muddy (with foxtail grass , water star and three-part two-toothed ). Furthermore, there is an alder break with ear and ash willows , swamp forget-me-nots , great balsam and forest ledges and many other species. The south and east banks are overgrown with fireweed , water irises , common loosestrife , true meadowsweet and bittersweet nightshade . At another small pond, calamus and pond horsetail grow on the bank, and in the water there are flooding plumes and curly pondweed .
fauna
Carp , roach , pike , rudd and perch can be found in the pond .
