Heidi Parviainen
Heidi Parviainen (born March 8, 1979 in Espoo ) is a Finnish singer and songwriter . She achieved fame in particular as the singer of the Finnish symphonic metal band Amberian Dawn , of which she was a member from 2006 to 2012. Your voice is soprano .
biography
Childhood and youth
After taking lessons at a music school at a very early age and receiving musical support in elementary school, Heidi Parviainen began taking piano lessons at the age of 11 . At the age of 14 she took classical singing lessons ; she also sang in choirs and ensembles .
Musical career
She first came into contact with metal music in 1997 when she was asked by some classmates who had founded a death metal band called Agonia if she would like to take part in the production of an EP as a singer . Some time later she joined this band as a keyboardist and background singer . Shortly thereafter, the band renamed itself Iconofear . After Heidi Parviainen decided to work as lead singer, she stayed with Iconofear until 2006.
In the summer of 2006 she joined the Finnish symphonic metal band Amberian Dawn, who were looking for a singer. On January 30, 2008, the debut album River of Tuoni was released. Three more albums followed, as well as three European tours and appearances at various festivals .
On November 9, 2012 it was announced that Heidi Parviainen is leaving the band by mutual agreement.
On December 8, 2012 Parviainen announced that they would start a new musical project under the title Dark Sarah . In March 2013 the song Save Me was released . Memories Fall followed in January 2014 , a duet with Manuela Kraller (ex- Xandria ). On October 6, 2014, the music video for the song Hunting the Dreamer was released.
The planned as a concept album debut album Behind The Black Veil was initially released in three parts before it was released on May 8, 2015 as a complete album. Thematically it is about a young woman named Sarah, who is abandoned by her husband in front of the altar and then discovers her dark side ("Dark Sarah"). Inga Scharf ( Van Canto ) and Tony Kakko ( Sonata Arctica ) also appeared as guest musicians .
On November 18, 2016, the second studio album The Puzzle was released. Again there were guest contributions by Manuela Kraller ( Rain ), Charlotte Wessels ( Aquarium ) and Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto ( Dance with the Dragon ). The album received mostly positive reviews.
Guest appearances
Heidi Parviainen appeared as a guest singer with the Finnish metal bands Eternal Tears of Sorrow (2009) and Ensiferum (2012).
