Heidrun Kämper

Heidrun Deborah Kämper (* 1954 in Gevelsberg , at times also Heidrun Kämper-Jensen ) is a German philologist and political scientist . She is an adjunct professor at the University of Mannheim.

Career

After studying German and political science at the University of Hamburg and the Technical University of Braunschweig , which she completed in 1981 with a master's thesis on youth language and beautiful literature in the early 20th century at the Philosophical and Social Science Faculty of the TU Braunschweig, Kämper was initially from 1981 to 1991 active in various research projects funded by the DFG as an assistant and research assistant at the seminar for German language and literature at the TU Braunschweig. In 1988 she received her doctorate with a dissertation on "Songs from 1848. Political language of a literary genre" with Helmut Henne . In 2005 she was awarded the Venia Legendi at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Mannheim on the basis of a habilitation thesis on “Debt Discourse in the Early Post-War Period ”.

From 1986 to 1991 Kämper worked on the revision of the German dictionary by Hermann Paul , since 2002 she has been its co-editor alongside Helmut Henne and Georg Objartel . From 1993 to 2003 she worked on the revision of the German Foreign Dictionary at the Institute for German Language . Kämper is also co-editor of the Germanistik magazine . Until 1999 she taught at the Technical University of Darmstadt . Since 2000, Kämper has been head of the “Linguistic Upheavals of the 20th Century” department at the Institute for German Language. At the University of Mannheim, she teaches at the Department of German Philology as an adjunct professor .

From 2010 to 2012 Kämper acted as a liaison lecturer at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung ; since 2012 she has been a member of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation's selection committee. In 2007 and 2009 she was awarded visiting professorships at the University of Sarajevo and the Marmara University in Istanbul.

In 1978 Kämper joined the SPD and has been a Mannheim city ​​councilor since 2014 .
