Heike Brehmer (* 5. November 1962 in Staßfurt ) is a German politician of the CDU , Member of Parliament and former district administrator of the district of Aschersleben-Staßfurt .

Professional background

Heike Brehmer completed an apprenticeship in gastronomy and subsequently an apprenticeship as a clerk for agriculture and food industry (LNG) and later qualified as a business economist (FH).

From 1990 to 1994 she was the municipal director in Tarthun and from 1994 to 2003 she was head of the joint administrative office in Bördeaue.

From 2008 to 2009 she was managing director of the Magdeburg Student Union.

politics

From 1999 to 2003 she was chairwoman of the Aschersleben-Staßfurt district council, to which she had been a member since 1990. On April 27, 2003, she was elected in the runoff election, 61.4%, to succeed Thomas Leimbach as district administrator of the Aschersleben-Staßfurt district. On April 22, 2007, Heike Brehmer took up the position of CDU candidate for the post of the new salt district . In the runoff election on May 6, 2007, she was defeated by the SPD candidate, Ulrich Gerstner.

In June 2009 she was nominated by the CDU as a direct candidate for the Harz constituency (constituency 69). In the 2009 Bundestag elections , she was able to move into the German Bundestag for the first time as a directly elected member with 33% of the first votes . In 2013 she was re-elected with 46%, in 2017 with 36.4%.

Heike Brehmer was a full member from 2009 to 2014 and has since been a deputy member of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag. She was chairwoman of the tourism committee from 2014–2017 and has been a full member since then. She is also a full member of the Bundestag's Council of Elders and is a deputy member of the Finance Committee and the Health Committee .

Brehmer is also deputy chairwoman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. Since 2013 she has been chairwoman of the Saxony-Anhalt regional group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, and since 2014 a member of the council of elders of the German Bundestag. From January to March 2018, Brehmer chaired the Petitions Committee . Since March 2018 she has been the parliamentary managing director of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

Since 2009 she has been an assessor and since 2015 she has been the deputy chairwoman of the federal board of the CDU Local Political Association (KPV) . Since 2010, Brehmer has also been deputy chairwoman of the CDU Saxony-Anhalt .

family

Brehmer is a Roman Catholic , divorced and has two children. She lives in Wernigerode .
