Heike Laufenburg

Heike Laufenburg (born May 17, 1961 in Düsseldorf ) is a German artist , illustrator and author .

Life

After graduating from a girls' secondary school, she decided to do a social year at the Melanchtonkirche day care center. In 1981 she graduated from high school and finished her teacher training at the Lore Lorentz School. In 1983 she got the publishing traineeship and in 1985 her training as a lecturer. From 1980 to 1995 she worked for the Zwiebelzwerg Verlag . Since 1998 Heike Laufenburg has been working as an artist and u. a. as an illustrator of books.

She is married to Gregor Schell and has three children.

Heike Laufenburg prefers to publish her works as a book illustrator and has so far published around 300 books. She often publishes her artistic work on her own website.

From 1980 to 1985 Laufenburg was editor-in-chief of Caspar, the magazine for peace with children. There she worked with various social scientists, u. a. with Hans A. Pestalozzi and actively worked for children's rights.

In 1987 she published the well-known youth novel Tohuwabohus Tanz im Kopf . The third edition was published in 2006 (15,000 copies). After the first edition appeared, it was published as a book for the blind by the Deutsche Blindenstudienanstalt. In 1995 the title was chosen as the book of the week by Neue Westfälische . As editor she is responsible for a book series with anthologies. 50 different titles have now appeared. She has also been publishing these titles as free e-books on the Internet for several years. Since autumn 2007 Heike Laufenburg has been illustrating a 30-volume book series with Turkish legends for children and adults in collaboration with the Zwiebelzwerg Verlag and Prof. Necati Demir (Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey) and Ibrahim Özbakir (Cumhuruyiet University Sivas, Turkey).

Since 2005 Heike Laufenburg has been working intensively with themed galleries on the Internet, which she publishes on her own websites. Starting in 2010, the artist will publish her own edition in which books by various authors with their illustrations and integrated original images appear in hand-decorated book editions in small editions as unique items (Edition Heike Laufenburg). Since 2012 she has been publishing the literary magazine Literaturblick together with Gregor Schell .
