Heike Popel
Heike Popel , married Heike Perini (* 1961 ) is a former German luge athlete from the GDR who started for the SC Traktor Oberwiesenthal .
At the national luge championships of the German Democratic Republic , she won the gold medal in Oberwiesenthal in 1982, ahead of Anke Popel . Two years later she was runner - up in Valdaora, Italy, behind Monika Auer and ahead of third-placed Cerstin Schmidt . She was previously a Spartakiade winner in 1975 and a GDR junior champion in 1979 and 1980. In addition, she won a World Cup race on the artificial ice rink at Königssee in the 1980/1981 season .
