history

Former simultaneous church (2007)

Construction of the Faßberg Air Base began in autumn 1933 and opened in 1934. Catholic church records were kept in Faßberg since at least 1935 . In 1938, the Simultankirche St. Michael was built in the residential area next to the air base ; Protestant and Catholic services were held in it before the Holy Spirit Church was built. The Catholic residents of Faßberg then belonged to the pastoral care district of St. Paulus in Unterlüß . Today the church of St. Michael belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran St. Laurentius parish Faßberg-Müden and is located in the street "Fuchsbau 8".

On November 11, 1967, took place the consecration of the newly built Holy Spirit Church as Catholic Church for Fassberg; it also serves as the siting church for the Bundeswehr .

Around 1990 the Heilig-Geist-Kirche belonged to the parish of St. Paulus in Unterlüß, and before November 1st, 2006 it belonged to the parish of the Atonement Church of the Precious Blood in Bergen . Since November 1st, 2006 the Heilig-Geist-Kirche has belonged to the parish of St. Michael in Munster.
