Hein Savior

Hein Retter (born September 14, 1937 in Berlin ) is a German educational scientist. He is an emeritus professor for general education .

Live and act

Hein Retter studied education, psychology and philosophy at the universities and colleges of education in Bamberg and Würzburg . Here he completed his studies in 1964 with the first teaching examination for elementary schools and a diploma in psychology. The academic teachers include Wolfgang Brezinka and Hans Mieskes in education , Wilhelm Arnold and Ferdinand Merz in psychology, and Hans-Eduard Hengstenberg , Hans Wagner and Odo Marquard in philosophy . He then worked as a research assistant to Mieskes at the "Educational Science Seminar and Institute for Educational Research" at the University of Giessen . There, his scientific assignment consisted of “working on the situation of educational psychology in the Soviet Zone / GDR and also doing empirical toy research” . Four years later he did his doctorate under Mieskes on " Oswald Kroh's pedagogy ". In 1970 Hein Retter was appointed lecturer for general education at the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd and two years later he was appointed associate professor. In 1975 he accepted the chair for general education at the Lower Saxony University of Education, Braunschweig department . As a result of the Lower Saxony university reform, the place of employment from 1978 onwards became the Technical University of Braunschweig , Educational Science Department (today Faculty for Humanities and Educational Sciences), which integrated the University of Education. Here he retired on April 1, 2004.

Hein Retter was a reviewer for the “Entrance Level” committee of the “ German Education Council ”. His extensive scientific research focuses on: a .: Peter Petersen and the Jena Plan , reform pedagogy , education, school, school reform, games and toys. Toys for his book . Handbook on the history and pedagogy of toys, Hein Retter received the special scientific award from the Toy Working Group (Bamberg) in 1981.
