Heiner Dunckel (born January 16, 1954 in Hamburg ) is a German work and organizational psychologist and university professor in Flensburg . He has been a member of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament ( SPD ) since 2017 .

Life and work

After graduating from the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium in Hamburg in 1973 , Dunckel studied psychology , sociology and political economy in Mannheim and Berlin. In 1980 he passed his main diploma examination in psychology at the Free University of Berlin .

During and after his doctorate in 1985, Dunckel taught at universities in Berlin, Osnabrück, Zurich, Salzburg as well as in Asia and Latin America. A stopover after completing his doctorate was, among other things, a two-year employment with the Berlin city cleaning company . Since 1996, Dunckel has held the professorship for work and organizational psychology at the Institute for International Management and Economic Education at the European University of Flensburg . From 2001 to 2009 he was rector of the European University of Flensburg.

Dunckel is married and has four children.

Dunckel is a member of the German Society for Psychology , the Society for Work Science (GfA), the SPD and the Verdi union . In September 2016, members of the SPD district association Flensburg nominated him as a candidate for the state election in Schleswig-Holstein 2017 .

In the election, he was able to directly win the Flensburg state constituency with 31.6 percent of the first votes and thus became a member of the state parliament. There he works as a member of the education committee and as spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for universities, research and the like. Technology as well as industrial policy. Dunckel is also a deputy member of the Economic and European Committee.
