Heiner Faulenbach

Heiner Faulenbach (born May 7, 1938 in Moers ) is a Protestant university professor at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .

Life

After graduating from high school in Moers in 1959, he studied Protestant theology in Mainz , Göttingen and Basel until 1966. In 1966, he passed the first theological exam at the Ev. Church in the Rhineland with subsequent vicariate in Duisburg . From December 1, 1966, he was an assistant at the seminar for modern church history and the history of the ecumenical movement in Münster . After receiving his doctorate in 1968 as Dr. theol. In Basel he was from April 1, 1970 assistant at the Department of Church History in Bonn. After his habilitation July 10, 1971 for church history, he passed a special scientific theological examination (2nd exam) by the Rheinische Landeskirche and ordination . In 1973 he was appointed lecturer and 1978 professor in Bonn . He retired on July 31, 2003.

His work focuses on recent church history, Rhenish territorial church history and contemporary church history.
