Heinrich-Wilhelm Steiner (born July 18, 1956 in Schreufa ) is a major general a. D. of the army of the Bundeswehr . In his last employment he was in command of the information technology command of the Bundeswehr in Bonn .

Life

Heinrich-Wilhelm Steiner began his service in the Bundeswehr in 1975. From 1978 to 1981 he studied electrical engineering at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich . As an officer in the telecommunications force , he was deployed in Rotenburg and Neumünster. From 1990 to 1992 he completed the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg. He then took on tasks in the General Staff of the 6th Panzer Grenadier Division and the 5th Panzer Grenadier Brigade . In 1996 he became commander of the 320 telecommunications regiment in Frankenberg (Eder). From 1998 to 2000 he was a staff officer in the personnel office of the Bundeswehr (PersABw) in Cologne. After further assignments, he became head of division in the command staff of the armed forces (Fü S) in Bonn in 2003 . In 2005 he became general of the telecommunications force and commander of the telecommunications school and technical school of the army for electrical engineering (FmS / FSHElT) in Feldafing. In 2008 he took over the Staff Division I and in 2009 he was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff in the Armed Forces Staff. From January 2013 to March 27, 2019 he was commander of the Bundeswehr Information Technology Command (KdoITBw) in Bonn. He was retired on March 31, 2019.
