Heinrich Backhaus

Heinrich Backhaus (born December 3, 1888 in Jehrden , † June 5, 1943 in Gießen ) was a German politician of the NSDAP .

Backhaus was a post office worker in Ahrensburg. As early as 1925 he joined the NSDAP and in 1929 became district leader of the party in the Stormarn district , which he remained until 1932. In 1931 he was responsible for the civil service policy of the National Socialists in Schleswig-Holstein as a Gaufach advisor ; at the time this function was called Gauwalter of the Reich Association of German Civil Servants . In 1933 he was appointed mayor of Pinneberg .

Backhaus moved to the German Reichstag on September 10, 1932 for the resigned MP Hinrich Lohse . Until the end of the electoral term in November 1932 he represented constituency 13. He was nominated again in the 1936 Reichstag election, but received no mandate.

From 1937 until his death he was NSDAP district leader of the Wetterau. It was based in Giessen, at that time in the People's State of Hesse . Spatially, his area of ​​work included the Friedberg and Büdingen districts.
