Heinrich Balemann (born February 8, 1643 in Lübeck , † July 20, 1693 ibid) was a German lawyer and Lübeck councilor.

Life

Heinrich Balemann was the son of the Lübeck protonotary of the same name Hinrich Balemann and grandson of the Lübeck councilor Heinrich Balemann (councilor, 1580) . He studied law at the Universities of Halle and Wittenberg. At the University of Kiel , he was in 1673 for Dr. PhD in both rights. Balemann then went on trips to the Netherlands, England, France and Scandinavia. In 1675 he became Syndicus of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and in 1680 its councilor.

Balemann represented the city in several foreign embassies, including the 1678 peace treaty of Nijmegen . A copperplate portrait has survived from the time in Nijmegen. In 1692 he acquired the Brandenbaum family estate.

His son Heinrich Balemann became mayor of Lübeck . His brother Friedrich Balemann became a minister and district judge in East Frisia.

In the Marienkirche in Lübeck was to fire 1942 by Franz Austria painted large panel painting of the preaching of repentance of the prophet Nathan before David , that was the emblem Heinrich Balemanns, who is also head of the Church of St. Mary's Church, wore.
