Andreas Friedrich Heinrich Bammel (born December 10, 1855 in Köckte (Gardelegen) , † March 7, 1929 in Vohwinkel ) was a Prussian mayor .

Life

He was born as the son of Cathar. Doroth. Elisab. Bammel and Johann Joach. Friedr. Christian. Bammel was born and baptized in Peckfitz on January 4, 1856 .

As district secretary from Ruhrort , he was acting successor to Gottlieb Heinrich (1856–1927) on October 1, 1888 as mayor of the municipality of Vohwinkel, which had just become independent at that time. With the decree of the Lord President of November 29, 1888, Bammel was appointed mayor. His predecessor Heinrich was last mayor in Sonnborn and acting mayor in Vohwinkel. On January 10, 1889, Bammel was solemnly introduced into his office.

The local politician, popular with his citizens, pleaded for the construction of the suspension railway from Vohwinkel to Elberfeld and Barmen . Nevertheless, the citizens in the Sonnborn district protested against the construction, as they saw the railway as a "disaster" and a threat to their place. The Sonnborn were defeated even by legal means.

In City Hall Vohwinkel , which was built in 1897 to 1898 Bammel had an official residence. He remained in office until June 30, 1919 and was then replaced by Albrecht Landwehr (1881–1966).

Heinrich Bammel died in March 1929 at the age of 73 in Vohwinkel. He was buried in the cemetery on Ehrenhainstrasse; his grave has not been preserved.
