Heinrich Bardong

Heinrich Bardong (born February 28, 1917 in Worms ; † April 29, 2015 ) was a German clergyman, honorary capitular in the diocese of Mainz and dean of the dean's office in Darmstadt.

Life

After receiving the sacrament of ordination in 1940, participating in the war and returning from American captivity, he worked as a chaplain from 1945 to 1950 in Offenbach am Main St. Paul and from 1950 to 1955 in Mainz-Neustadt Liebfrauen . He then headed the St-Josephshaus for children and young people in Burg Klein -zimmer for three years . From there he moved to the parish of St. Petrus Canisius in Mainz-Gonsenheim, which he headed from 1958 to 1962.

On July 1, 1962, he became pastor of St. Ludwig in Darmstadt. He worked there until his retirement in 1991. From 1972 to 1987 he was dean of the Darmstadt dean's office. In 1977, Cardinal Hermann Volk appointed Bardong to the title of Honorary Chapter Chapter of the Mainz Cathedral Chapter . For his many years of service in Darmstadt, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 1991 by Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker .

In 1977 the city of Darmstadt honored Bardong with the bronze merit plaque for his services. In 1986 he was awarded the silver plaque of merit, the highest honor given by the city of Darmstadt. In 1991 the German Caritas Association honored Bardong with the Caritas Cross of Honor in Gold for his 28 years as chairman of the Caritas Association Darmstadt.
