Heinrich Bircher (entrepreneur)

Heinrich Bircher (born March 12, 1868 in Erlinsbach AG ; † March 30, 1927 in Zurich , legal domicile in Küttigen ) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Heinrich Bircher's father, Rudolf, was the owner of a lime factory .

Bircher completed a commercial apprenticeship from 1884 to 1887 and then went to America for a three-year stay . Upon his return, he joined his father's factory in 1891. From 1907 he dealt with the planning and from 1912 with the establishment of the Portland Cement Works Würenlingen - Siggenthal . After the First World War, he perfected the equipment of the plant as technical director. This rose to become the most important plant in the national cement industry.

Bircher was married to Rosa Steiner from Zurich.
