Heinrich Christian Beck (born March 7, 1805 in Albertshofen , † November 30, 1866 in Hohenstadt ) was a German Protestant pastor, local researcher and naturalist .

Life

Heinrich Christian Beck studied on a scholarship from the Bayreuth Heilsbronner fund at the university in Jena . He became a Protestant theologian and worked as parish vicar in Kitzingen , from 1832 as royal pastor in Schweinfurt ( Johanniskirche ) and in later years in Hohenstadt near Hersbruck.

Beck extensively researched the history of the city of Schweinfurt and is best known for his chronicles of the city of Schweinfurt. In addition, he dealt with minerals and did intensive research on viticulture, especially the cultivation and culture of vines.

On January 1, 1852, he was elected member (registration number 1629) of the Leopoldina with the nickname Metzger I. in the Mineralogy, Crystallography and Petrology section .

Beck was married to Sophie Karoline Auguste Beck , née Voit from Schweinfurt, who was declared of age by the Bavarian King with effect from April 24, 1836.
