Heinrich Flügel (lawyer)

Heinrich wing (born August 6, 1891 in Bremen , † June 24, 1940 in Bremen) was a Bremen lawyer and managing director of the Weserbund .

biography

Flügel was the son of the architect Heinrich Flügel . He attended the Alte Gymnasium in Bremen and then studied law at the University of Freiburg , the University of Würzburg and the Humboldt University in Berlin . He was very interested in transport policy problems. During his studies he worked in the American agency of a Bremen shipping company. In 1914 he received his doctorate at the University of Leipzig on "The German World Ports Hamburg and Bremen".

After the First World War , in which he served as a soldier, he became managing director of the Bremen Canal Association, which expanded into the Weserbund in 1921 . The construction of a Hansa Canal from the Mittelland Canal to the Elbe was suggested by him, but also because of Bremen's interests it did not lead to success. From 1921 he published the monthly magazine Die Weser . In 1932 he became managing director of the tourist office from 1903 . He was active in various organizations and has published several publications on transport issues.
