Heinrich Götz (officer)
Heinrich Götz (born January 1, 1896 in Hanover , † January 31, 1960 in Oberaudorf ) was a German officer , most recently lieutenant general in World War II .
Life
Götz served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the Reichswehr and worked as a commander in various units. He also served in the Wehrmacht during World War II, including as commander of the 83rd Infantry Division and the 21st Infantry Division . In the last weeks of the war Götz led the Volksgrenadier division “Scharnhorst” as commander .
