Heinrich Hansen (trade unionist)

Heinrich Hansen (born November 11, 1895 - † February 8, 1971 in Stuttgart ) was a German trade unionist . He was chairman of the IG Druck und Papier .

Life

Heinrich Hansen was part of the trade union resistance during the Nazi era . In 1936 he was imprisoned for four years on charges of "preparing for high treason ". He was released but was under police supervision. After the end of the Second World War , he helped set up the IG Druck und Papier and was involved in building up the German Federation of Trade Unions .

At the first association day of the graphic trade unions of the western zones in 1948, at which the IG Druck und Papier was founded, Hansen was elected second chairman, Christian Fette became chairman . Until then, Hansen had been second chairman of the Nordmark district. In May 1949 Hansen took part in the founding congress of the International Graphic Federation in Stockholm.

After Fette became chairman of the DGB in 1951, Hansen succeeded him as chairman of IG Druck und Papier. He held the office until 1962. He died in 1971.

The Heinrich-Hansen-Haus of the Institute for Education, Media and Art of the United Service Union ver.di (the successor organization of the IG Druck und Papier) in Lage - Hörste , North Rhine-Westphalia is named after him. It was opened in 1954 under the name "Bergheim Hörste".
