Heinrich Hudtwalcker

Heinrich Hudtwalcker (born August 16, 1829 in Hamburg ; † June 3, 1896 there ) was a German businessman .

Life

Hudtwalcker was a son of the Hamburg merchant Karl Hudtwalcker (1782-1854) and his wife Charlotte Christiane, née Fiedler (1791-1866). He headed the company Hudtwalcker & Co., which was founded in 1743 by his great-grandfather Jacob Hinrich Hudtwalcker (1710–1781). He was also involved in the management of other companies, such as the supervisory board of the Norddeutsche Bank , the Hamburger Freihafen-Lagerhaus-Gesellschaft , the Waren-Credit-Anstalt and the jute spinning mill Hamburg-Harburg.

Hudtwalcker was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from 1862, 1863, 1865 to 1870 and 1872 to 1874 . In 1862 and 1863 he acted there as secretary.

Heinrich Hudtwalcker married on November 12, 1868 Anna Sophie Petit (1842-1892), the daughter of the merchant and Danish Consul in Lübeck , Charles Petit . They had four daughters and two sons. Olaf Hudtwalcker was his grandson and Nicolaus Hudtwalcker was his second uncle .

  • Commercial judge from 1871 to 1876
  • Member of the guardianship authority from 1884 to 1887
  • Board member of the asylum for the blind, the asylum for the blind and the Hedwig Foundation
