Markus Rehberg

Markus Rehberg (born May 20, 1971 in Bad Soden am Taunus ) is a German legal scholar . He holds the chair for civil law , German and international business law , legal theory and legal economics at the University of Rostock .

Life

Markus Rehberg studied law at the Universities of Mainz and Heidelberg , passed the first state examination in 1994 and the second in 1997 . In 1995 he obtained a Master of Laws from Cambridge University . Rehberg then studied economics at the Humboldt University in Berlin and at the Hagen Open University .

From 2000–2001 he was an advisor to the Slovak government in the field of state aid , followed by a 2001–2002 research stay at the Law Faculty of the University of Granada . In 2002 he received his doctorate with a thesis entitled The Insurance Completion as an Information Problem.

Markus Rehberg then worked as a research assistant at the University of Münster , and in 2003 he moved to Munich . The habilitation followed there in 2012 as a research assistant in Munich with a thesis The principle of justification - a contract theory .

In 2005, Rehberg was the scientific director of the Center for Negotiation and Mediation at the University of Munich. 2011–2012 he took on a substitute professorship at the chair for civil law and labor law at the University of Regensburg . In 2012 he was appointed to the chair for civil law, German and international business law, legal theory and legal economics at the University of Rostock, which he has held since then.

Markus Rehberg's research focuses on contract theory, international business law, legal economics and legal theory.
