Henry I of Maastricht
Heinrich I of Maastricht († December 23, 1195 in Worms ) was Bishop of Worms from 1192 to 1195 .
Henry of Maastricht accompanied King Henry VI. as a notary on his Italian move at the end of the 1180s. During this time he was also involved in negotiations with the Curia . He moved with Heinrich in 1191 to Rome for his coronation as well . After the Chancellor Diether von Katzenelnbogen died in the same year in front of Naples, Heinrich headed the chancellery of Heinrich VI as protonotary. In 1191 he received the title of provost at Aachen ( Marienstift ) and perhaps also at Maastricht ( Servatiusstift ). At the beginning of 1192 he was appointed bishop of Worms, but stayed in the vicinity of the ruler and traveled with him in the German areas of the empire. In 1194 he officiated as vicarius Italiae , representative of the emperor, in Italy. In May / June 1195 he was engaged in negotiations with the Pope about a new crusade. He died on December 23, 1195 in Worms.
