Heinrich Koerting
Heinrich Koerting (also Körting or Kœrting , born March 15, 1859 in Leipzig , † July 19, 1890 ibid) was a German Romance studies .
biography
Koerting studied Romance philology. His most important teacher, along with his brother Gustav , was Adolf Ebert , a Romanist . He received his doctorate in 1882 with the thesis “On two religious paraphrases by Pierre Corneille. L'imitation de Jésus-Christ and the Louanges de la Sainte Vierge ”. In 1884 he received his habilitation, in 1889 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Leipzig .
Together with Dietrich Behrens (1859–1929) he edited the “ Journal for New French Language and Literature ”.
