Johann Heinrich Krahmer (born February 23, 1782 in Berlin ; † October 16, 1843 ibid.) Was a German architect and construction clerk .

Life

Heinrich Krahmer was the son of the Prussian war council Christian Andreas Krahmer (1739-1812) and his wife Sophie Elisabeth born. Kiliani (1746-1818) born. Under Heinrich Gentz ​​he was involved in the construction of the palace in Weimar in 1802/03 , was employed by the Oberbaudepartement from February to June 1805, and in 1805, after his release from the Oberhofbauamt, was employed as a construction manager at the Oberbaudeputation. In 1806 he was given leave of absence to take over the supervision of the buildings to be carried out in the Hunnesrück office. After the reorganization of the Oberbaudeputation he was dismissed in February 1810, but received in October d. J. was employed as a construction manager at the Ministerial Construction Commission in Berlin and was employed there in 1816 as a construction inspector. From June 4, 1818 he was employed with the title of building councilor. At the Bauakademie he taught electricity, dyke and bridge construction in 1821/22. After returning from a trip to Italy in 1829, he was on the building commission responsible for matters relating to the royal theater. However, his designs for the interior of the opera house were never carried out. Krahmer was always in the shadow of Karl Friedrich Schinkel , for whom he directed numerous small buildings without leaving any major works of his own. Most of his designs fell victim to Schinkel's counter-designs. In June 1842, he was appointed government and building councilor and technical member of the ministerial building commission.
