Heinrich Ludwig Urlichs
Heinrich Ludwig Urlichs (born February 14, 1864 in Würzburg , † 1935 ) was a German classical archaeologist and classical philologist .
Heinrich Ludwig Urlichs was the son of the archaeologist Ludwig von Urlichs . He studied classical studies in Würzburg with his father and Martin Schanz and in Berlin with Adolf Furtwängler , Carl Robert , Ernst Curtius and Johannes Vahlen , especially archeology. In 1887 he received his doctorate at the University of Würzburg and worked there at the Martin von Wagner Museum 's collection of antiques until 1890 . From 1891 he worked as a grammar school teacher, including in Ansbach and from 1902 at the Theresien grammar school in Munich. In addition, he remained active in scientific research. He supported Adolf Furtwängler with the publication of the monuments of Greek and Roman sculpture (1898). He was also responsible for the new edition of the foundations and history of his father's classical studies . He was mainly concerned with Greek mythology and Greek sculpture.
