Heinrich Marx (pastor)

Heinrich Marx (born November 21, 1885 in Henkenbrink ; † August 8, 1971 in Bödefeld ) was a German Roman Catholic priest and local researcher .

Life

Heinrich Marx was born on November 21, 1885 as the son of the farmer and weaver Friedrich Marx in Henkenbrink, Detmold district. Marx attended the imperial high school in Paderborn until he graduated from high school in 1905 . He then studied Catholic theology in Breslau and Paderborn until 1909 . After that he was parish vicar of the parish of St. Bonifatius in Artern until 1911 . In the same position he worked in the parish Herz Jesu in Gerbstedt until 1913 and in Olpe until 1924 . Between 1924 and 1933 Marx was cathedral vicar in Paderborn. Also since 1924 he was diocesan president of the Catholic labor movement (KAB) in the diocese of Paderborn . During the Great Depression , he organized a voluntary labor service camp in the Senne in this capacity.

Between 1933 and 1958 he was pastor of the parish of St. Cosmas and Damian in Bödefeld. After that he lived as a pastor until 1962. R. in Schönau near Olpe and then in Bödefeld until his death. He found his final resting place in his home parish Sabbenhausen, a district of the city of Lügde.

He published numerous articles on local history and religion in specialist magazines and daily newspapers. His chronicle of the parish of Bödefeld from 1958 should be emphasized. From 1963 until his death he was responsible for the content of the homeland papers for the parish of Bödefeld .

Honors

For his services he was appointed " Spiritual Councilor " and later " House Chaplain of His Holiness ": "Spiritual Councilor Monsignor Heinrich Marx".

By resolution of the municipal council on November 9, 1958, Pastor Marx was made an honorary citizen of the Bödefeld municipality . A street in Bödefeld bears his name: "Pfarrer-Heinrich-Marx-Straße".
