Heinrich Otto von Borries (born November 10, 1728 in Stade ; † November 21, 1785 ibid) was a German lawyer and deputy director of the electoral Hanover consistory in Stade.

origin

Heinrich Otto von Borries was a son of Dorothea Sophia Charlotta, née Bacmeister (born August 23, 1695 in Hanover, † July 24, 1755 in Stade; daughter of Johann Christian Bacmeister and Hedwig Elisabeth, née Nolbeck (1678–1720)) and of the civil servant Johann Friedrich von Borries (1684–1751). He had several siblings, including the younger brother Philipp Lucas Arnold von Borries (* October 5, 1731; † 1793) and the older sister Johanne Georgine von Borries (* 1726; † 1775 zu Drübber ). Heinrich Otto von Borries was thus an uncle of Basilius von Ramdohr .

Life

His studies were initially carried out through private information at the grammar school in Stade in school science. From Easter 1748 until September 1750 he was enrolled at the University of Jena and then from October 1750 for law studies at the University of Göttingen . At Easter 1751 he had to break off his academic years and return home because of the unexpected death of his father. He entered service in the Electorate of Hanover and in 1751 became an auditor at the two judicial colleges of the Chancellery and the Court Court in Stade, and in 1752 he was also appointed auditor at the royal consistory. In autumn 1753 he went on a study trip to Wetzlar, from where he came back in summer 1754 after a three-quarter year stay. On December 24, 1754 he was appointed extraordinary judicial advisor at the law firm and in 1755 was court judge assessor at the court in Stade. In 1761 he was appointed to the consistory of the government (consistory) of the duchies of Bremen-Verden in Stade and in 1768 to the ordinary judicial council.
