Heinrich Pohlmeier

Henry Pohl Meier (* 22. August 1922 in the east country , † 6. March 2014 ) was a German politician of the CDU .

education and profession

After graduating from high school with the Abitur, Pohlmeier studied at the University of Münster. In 1950 he passed the first and in 1952 the second state examination for teaching at a grammar school. In 1954 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. From 1952 to 1977 he worked as a grammar school teacher: from 1952 to 1954 in the public school service and from 1954 to 1977 at the private Mauritius grammar school in Büren. His last position there was Director of Studies.

politics

Heinrich Pohlmeier had been a member of the CDU since 1964. From 1964 to 1974 he was chairman of the CDU local branch in Büren and from 1967 to 1974 chairman of the CDU local branch in Büren. 1974 to 1985 he was chairman of the CDU district association in Paderborn. He was a member of the state board of Westphalia-Lippe from 1975 to 1985. He was councilor of the city of Büren from 1964 to 1971, and from 1964 to 1969 he was also chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

From July 26, 1970 to May 28, 1980 he was a directly elected member of the 7th and 8th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency 135 Büren-Warburg.

Heinrich Pohlmeier was a member of the 9th , 10th and 11th German Bundestag for the Paderborn constituency from 1980 to 1990 .
