Heinrich Reif

Heinrich Reif (born June 24, 1881 in Nuremberg ; † August 19, 1954 there ) was a German brewery and estate owner.

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Augsburg, Heinrich Reif studied law and political science at the universities of Munich and Berlin. In 1903 he was reciprocated in the Corps Suevia Munich . After his first practical work at the Dischinger brewery in Darmstadt, he served in 1904/05 as a one-year volunteer with the Royal Bavarian 2nd Uhlan Regiment “König” in Ansbach . Then he joined his father's brewery JG Reif in Nuremberg; he became a partner and manager there in 1909. He modernized the brewery operations according to the latest technical achievements and converted the company founded in 1520 as GN Kurz'sche Brewery , one of the oldest breweries in Nuremberg, into a modern export beer brewery. The best-known brand was the Siechen beer . In 1931 he merged with the Nuremberg Aktienbrauerei to Brauhaus Nuremberg JG Reif AG , one of the two predecessor companies of 1966 as Brau AG incurred Tucher Braeu AG . In addition to his work as a brewery entrepreneur, he worked as a landowner and commercial judge .

He took part in World War I as an officer, most recently as Rittmeister of the Reserve and column leader.

For many years, Reif was a member of the executive board of the Bavarian Brewery Association and the German Brewery Association as well as 1st chairman of the Association for the Protection of the United Breweries of Nuremberg, Fürth and the surrounding area . He also served as a board member of the Bavarian State Trade Organization in Nuremberg, the Bavarian Auditing Association, the Economic Council of the Bavarian People's Party and the Bavarian Federation of Industrialists . He was the first chairman of the industrial and trade association in Nuremberg and the surrounding area and second president of the Nuremberg racing club.
