Heinrich Saffe (* 1599 in Lübeck ; † February 16, 1665 ibid) was a lawyer and councilor in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Heinrich Saffe was the son of Lübeck councilor Barthold Saffe , who was removed from his office as councilor in 1609 because he did not take part in the affairs of the council and did not appear at the council meetings. Heinrich Saffe studied law at the universities of Leipzig, Jena and Rostock from 1619 to 1624. He graduated with a Lic. Jur. and settled down as a lawyer in his hometown. In 1644 he was elected to the city council. In 1645 he belonged to the legation of the cities of Lübeck, Hamburg and Bremen to the three ruling princes of Braunschweig-Lüneburg, who worked at the courts of Braunschweig, Celle and Hanover because of the expansion of the fortifications of Harburg Castle , a secondary residence of the Braunschweig-Lüneburgers, which had begun in 1644 , remonstrated to the baroque fortress with citadel. From 1661, Saffe was also the combiner. His full portrait hangs in the house of the merchants .
