Heinrich Schneider (politician, 1902)

Heinrich Schneider (born September 16, 1902 in Ehrenbreitstein , †  July 20, 1972 in Kirn ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school in Ehrenbreitstein and Kirn, he began a commercial apprenticeship . This was followed by a commercial activity in industry and trade. In 1934 he became a board member of the Sparkasse for the Kreuznach district and from 1936 a local political advisor. In the years 1943 to 1945 he did military service (most recently lieutenant d. Res.). After the war he was interned in the camps in Ludwigsburg, Ulm, Heilbronn, Kornwestheim, Darmstadt and Diez until 1948. On August 6, 1949, the Bad Kreuznach investigative committee classified him as a minor offender (no employment in the public service, 500 DM fine, 2 years probation). On February 24, 1950, the ruling chamber Koblenz made the cleansing verdict as beneficiary with dismissal without a pension. Schneider appealed against this. This was followed on July 20, 1950 by the appeals department of the Koblenz Chamber of Appeal (cancellation of the verdict, termination of the proceedings).

From 1949 to 1953 he worked as managing director in an automobile dealership.

Political party

Schneider became a member of the NSDAP in 1932 and was local group leader from 1933 to 1936 . From 1934 to 1937 he was a member of the DAF and since 1934 a member of the NSV . From 1934 to 1935 he was district manager in the Birkenfeld district, district and Gauredner and district training leader for Marxism at the NSDAP district school in Bad Kreuznach . From 1940 to 1943 he worked as a provisional local group leader in Kirn.

After the war he became a member of the SPD in 1953.

MP

Schneider was elected for the first time in the state elections in 1959 in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament and belonged to this for three electoral terms (4th – 6th electoral period) from May 19, 1959 to August 31, 1970. In the 4th electoral term he was a member of the Economic and Reconstruction Committee. In the 5th electoral term he switched to the main committee and in the 6th electoral term he was a member of the interior committee.

Communal activities

From 1933 to 1935 he was councilor of the city of Kirn. Subsequently, until 1937 alderman of the city of Kirn and until 1943 city mayor of Kirn. After the war he became a member of the Bad Kreuznach district council in 1956 and first district deputy in the Bad Kreuznach district in 1957.

Other engagement

Schneider was chairman of the Middle Rhine Gymnastics Association and deputy chairman of the Rhineland Sports Association and chairman of the VHS Kirn. From 1937 to 1945 he was a member of the Reich Association of German Civil Servants .
