Heinrich Strack (the younger)
Heinrich Strack the Younger (born June 4, 1841 in Oldenburg , † December 17, 1912 in Berlin-Grunewald ) was a German architect and lecturer.
Life
Heinrich Strack was born as the son of an architect, probably Heinrich Strack the Elder. Ä. (1801–1880), and a daughter of the painter Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbeins (1751–1829), the so-called Goethe-Tischbein, born in Oldenburg. He was adopted by the architect Johann Heinrich Strack (1805-1880) and received an apprenticeship there and at the building academy in Berlin. In 1872 he became an assistant teacher, in 1876 a teacher at the building academy and probably in 1877 a professor at the Royal Technical University and the Royal Art School in Berlin. From 1894–1896 he was a member of the Senate of the Technical University in Charlottenburg and in 1911 became Dr. Ing. E. H. at the Technical University in Gdansk. He was not very practical, but mainly a teacher and specialist writer.
