Heinrich Turck (born December 14 or 21, 1607 in Goch ; † November 19 or December 9, 1669 in Trier ) was a German historian , annalist and Jesuit .

Life

Heinrich Turck, born in Goch in 1607, came from a Westphalian aristocratic family that can be traced back to the 13th century and entered the novitiate with the Jesuits in Cologne in 1625 . After completing his philosophical and theological studies, Turck was minister at the Paderborn Jesuit College from 1644 to 1648 , where he began to work on comprehensive annals. From November 13, 1650 he was rector in the Jesuit college in Trier and vice- rector in Haus Geist in Münsterland on November 17, 1664 . From August 9, 1666 until his death in 1669, Turck was rector of Trier.

Turck's main work includes the historical representation of the Lower Rhine- Westphalian order province of the Jesuits, which was created over several decades , Annales seu primae origines provinciae nostrae Rheni inferioris ab mundo condito usque ad 1650 , 7 extensive volumes in -4 °, in which he contains many unprinted sources from archives and Libraries related.
